IMPACT PERSONAL TRAINING, LLC
Frequently Asked Question
1. What will in person training look like?
- In my personal studio. These workouts can translate to the gym where you hold membership, if applicable.
2. What will virtual training look like?
I “meet” with clients using either GoogleMeet or Zoom. At the start of each 8-12 week program, we walk through each exercise and each workout in your program. This enables you to complete these workouts during each of our virtual sessions, as well as on your own, encouraging a regular exercise routine. Once comfortable, we rotate through each workout in weekly sessions, focusing on exercise form, progression, and variability, while integrating discussions re:motivation, habit building, troubleshooting, etc.
3. What is included in my training package?
- Every 8-12 weeks: Individualized evidence-based workout program
- In person or virtual training sessions.
- PT Distinction training app listing all workouts with videos.
- I will track your progress throughout each week, based on the training log in your app
4. What is included in my nutrition coaching?
- Initial assessment
- General menu & food prep tips
- Individualized guidelines according to your lifestyle & biometrics
- Problem solving strategies, weekly accountability and positive motivation
5. How “individualized” is my training program?
Your program is based on your personality, specific goals, motivations, movement assessment, and health, fitness & injury history. Your program will be uniquely tailored to you now, as you change, and as life changes around you.
6. As a trainer, do you have a specialization?
I have a broad base of clients, male and female, all with a variety of goals:
General Fitness
Body Recomposition (increase strength, lower body fat)
Pre & Post-natal
Strength Training
General Rehabilitation (post physical therapy)
Bodybuilding
7. How much will I pay every month for my training subscription?
Your fee is based is on the number of sessions you desire each month:
- Training and or Nutrition Sessions: $85/60min OR $65/45 min OR. $50/30min
* 3 month subscription required to allow adequate time for program effectiveness.
Here are three examples of pricing for a monthly training plan:
TWO 30 min training sessions (2 x $50) per week - Total monthly charge = $400
ONE 45 min training session (1 x $65) per week - Total monthly charge = $260
ONE 60 min training session (1 x $85) per week AND ONE 30 min nutrition session/week (1 x $50) - Total monthly charge = $540
8. How do your rates compare with other virtual trainers? My rates are based on the demand for services in my area, as well as my level of education and training. My desire is to maintain average pricing that is accessible to those willing to consistently commit themselves to the process of gaining and maintaining their fitness and nutrition.
9. Other online trainers seem to offer their services for less. Why?
- Exercise and nutrition will typically be advertised as “custom” - In the fine print, these programs are not written specifically for you, (they are just written specifically by that trainer). I tailor exercise programs specifically to your goals; based on your fitness level, lifestyle, motivation and story.
- Trainer connection will be advertised as “24/7” - The trainer connection will most likely not be based on an understanding of who you are. I will always respond as your personal trainer - your coach, educator and motivator. Our communications are based on your preferences, challenges, past performance, current progressions, etc….. while keeping your big picture in perspective.
- No assessment is offered - I assess each client enabling me to address movement issues before they cause you injury or impede your progress.
- Many low-priced online trainers do not have a broad base of knowledge and/or certifications. The fitness industry has no governing body ensuring
that all who claim the personal trainer title are actually certified….in anything.
10. Do I need a gym membership?
It depends on your goals and program. A gym can provide fewer distractions, a local community of support, and more variety in exercise selection. Programs can be written for gym use outside of our sessions, if desired. However, with the equipment you already own, or with the purchase of a few small and inexpensive items, there are plenty of at-home (and travel) exercise options available!
11. Is Impact PT okay for beginners?
Absolutely, Impact is appropriate and helpful for clients at any level. Our training is personal, based on where you are, and where you want to be.
12. Am I too "out of shape” for Impact?
Absolutely not! Impact trains clients personally. Programs are written for each individual, based on their age, gender, goals, current fitness level, exercise and injury history. Muscle atrophy/sarcopenia is based on decreased movement, not necessarily age only - so, keep moving!
13. How do I communicate with my trainer?
Text, email or phone. I also follow your progress throughout the week in your PT App.
14. How often do you check in with me?
This depends on your needs. We create a monthly plan outlining session/check-in frequency.
15. How do I receive my workouts?
Everything is in your free PT App; provided upon your training subscription.
16. How will I keep track of my workouts/nutrition?
You will have a no-cost training app (PT Distinction) including workouts, logs, videos & nutrition tracking. You can also link My Fitness Pal to your PT app.
17. What does the free PT App offer?
Your workout exercises, with videos and accurate descriptions. You can view videos, reminders, articles, and/or coaching items. It also allows you to track your workout and nutrition progress.
18. How do you correct my exercise form outside of a session?
There is a video attached to every exercise in your app, as well as an option to video yourself performing that movement. I then address your video at our next session/coaching, or watch you during your next session.
19. How is my progress measured?
We look together at your workout consistency, and at your gains in strength, stamina, and general fitness levels. We also discuss the progress you are seeing in lifestyle goals, and how you are feeling about your health and fitness in general. We can also incorporate other methods that work best for you as a person, emotionally and physically.
20. What if I travel?
Prior to your travel, I provide you with programs you can easily perform in a “hotel room type setting” or hotel gym, as well as strategies for exercise & nutrition troubleshooting.
21. How long does it take to see results?
Consistency with your program and nutrition is key! Clients typically notice change within a matter of weeks or months.
22. Do your nutrition guidelines accommodate specific diets?
Nutritional guidelines are based on how nutrition science interacts with your goals, preferences, lifestyle and history. We discuss & consider different methods. DISCLAIMER: I am not a registered dietician, and therefore, cannot prescribe “diet plans” to treat medical conditions.
